Sirdar 5265 knitting pattern for a baby sweater with cabled raglan sleeve shaping, contrast colour striped yoke, ribbed welts and minimal seaming. Pattern also includes options to knit a button-up cardigan or jumper. Sized for newborn to 3 years.
Sleeves are knit from cuff up, then joined with the body and continues with Raglan shaping. Borders and neckband are picked up and knitted in ribbing. Underarms and sleeves are seamed.

When substituting yarn, compare the tension gauge of the pattern and the yarn. Working a tension square to determine the suitability of the yarn as a substitute is recommended - to compare the tension for sizing but also to test whether it creates the fabric you are after.
To determine the quantity needed, compare the total meterage needed in the pattern to the meterage on the substitute.
