Do you want to make a memory quilt or book shelf quilt but you are overwhelmed with ideas.... or stumped with what to do and where to start? Let us help you turn your memories into a fabulous quilt or wall hanging. We’ll show you how to incorporate your precious photos, favourite book titles, fabrics or garments with special significance and other momentos that are dear to you, into a quilt to commemorate those special times.
In our class we will discuss different layout ideas, how to transfer your images onto fabric and then match them with your other elements. We have a number of patterns available, but can assist with custom designing a pattern to suit your images.
We have made a Pinterest board with ideas - have a look here
These can be achived through traditional piecing and applique as the base, adding machine or hand embroidered elements if you wish. Or, if you have an embroidery machine, you can use a machine embroidery design.
Class requirements will vary depending on what you make. Part of the first lesson will be spent discussing methods, choosing layouts and fabrics. Most things, except for your photos and special fabrics or garments will be available in store.
Sign up and start thinking about creating a piece that you will hold dear for years to come.
