A simple knit fair isle Hat, written instructions with a chart.
22 stitches and 30 rows = 10 cm
in Stst with 4mm needles
You will need
- Needles: 3.25 mm and 4mm
- DK yarn: one ball each of Vanilla, grey and mint.
This pattern was written for 8 ply/DK yarn. Click here to see more yarn options for this project.
When substituting yarn, compare the tension gauge of the pattern and the yarn. Working a tension square to determine the suitability of the yarn as a substitute is recommended - to compare the tension for sizing but also to test whether it creates the fabric you are after.
To determine the quantity of substitute yarn needed, compare the total meterage needed in the pattern to the meterage on the substitute.
