This pattern features a simple beanie pattern that is sized from 6 months all the way up to adult. A matching cowl pattern is included in adult sizing. Both are knitted flat, with the brim of the beanie knit sideways in garter and then the top knitted upwards in stockinette. A seam is then worked to finish the hat.

When substituting yarn, compare the tension gauge of the pattern and the yarn. Working a tension square to determine the suitability of the yarn as a substitute is recommended - to compare the tension for sizing but also to test whether it creates the fabric you are after.
