The Part-Kit includes: instructions with full colour photographs, pattern pages, the Air dried clay hand painted face and the pre-cut Tibetan lamb’s wool beard and hair.
Fabric Requirements
Inside the pattern is a guide sheet explaining the fabric requirements further, suggesting options you may choose to use. The following fabric requirements are a guide and what I used to make the Santa in the cover photo. Fabric requirements are based on non-directional fabric 112cm wide.
The * symbol indicates fabric or buttons which will ultimately not be seen in the finished Santa.
Body:
*50cm x width of fabric Red cotton
Skin-tone or cream cotton fabric for face and hands 20cm x width of fabric 112cm
2 cups of plastic teddy bear pellets or fish tank gravel (do not use food such as rice, split peas etc.)
Dacron stuffing
*4 x 15mm buttons for arm attachment.
Shirt:
*30cm x width of fabric 112cm
*Contrast trim: 5 cm x 30cm or ribbon 3cm x 30cm
*3 small buttons
Jacket:
Outer fabric 50cm x width of fabric 112cm of red cotton fabric
*Lining fabric 50cm cotton fabric
Thin wading 0.5m x 112cm
2.6m of fold over store bought bias binding or you could make your own. (2 inch wide cut)
2 x decorative buttons for pockets as desired.
*1 x 2cm button for neck of jacket
Pants: 55cm x width of fabric 112cm
4 x 15mm buttons
(I used the same fabric for the pants, bias binding and the jacket lining this took 1.5m in total.)
Gloves: 20cm square felt + 2 x decorative buttons as desired
Boots: 1 piece of felt 30cm x 40cm
Fur: 15cm of low pile fur or fluffy fabric such as Minky.
Freezer Paper: 0.5m
Embroidery floss or Perle 5 threads to match gloves and jacket.
Quick dry craft glue eg. Helmar craft glue, scrap paper, toothpicks.
General requirements of scissors, sewing machine and pins, needles, etc.
Sewing threads to match fabrics. Strong cream/neutral thread for attaching head and face.
Santa Accessories – size appropriate as desired.
