Designed by Michele Hill, Medieval Morris is inspired by the woven William Morris Design “Dragon and Peacock” curtains hanging in both the Art Gallery of South Australia and in the dining room at Carrick Hall.
Make this lovely Quilt using either machine or hand appliqué technique.
Finished Quilt Size approximately 60" x 72" (153cm x 183cm)
Requirements (All fabrics based on 42" (115cm) wide fabric).
-1.6m background for 5 main panels (Shown in black tone on tone)
-0.45m Gold contrast on sashing for border 1
-0.3m for sashing
-Border 1: included in the 0.45m of gold as above
-Border 2 1.4m (shown in black to match background)
-0.25m pieces for leaves and foliage
-Large scrap pieces (at least fat quarter size), of various colours including yellow, purple, orange and gold (or your choice for peacocks, dragons and birds)
-1m Fusible webbing (or 2m for narrow)
-Batting and backing fabric
NOTE: Large prints do not work well for appliqué, look for small prints.
