Titled Trade Winds, the same name as the fabric range that it features, the quilt captures the vibrant energy of an exotic market square, inspired by the chintz prints of India, Middle Eastern mosaics and Asian floral motifs.
“My Trade Winds Collection for Figo Fabrics was designed after reading a book called The Fabric of civilization by Virginia Postrel”, reveals BOM designer Kathy Doughty. “The book covers the origin of textiles and how civilisation evolved around the industry of making cloth. Even though I have been surrounded by textiles for decades, I had never thought of how it all started. It was so fascinating I started sketching immediately!”
