A simple double ribbed beanie with stripes. An essential warm hat for the great outdoors. Knitted in 8ply/DK yarn on 4mm needles - one size fits all 2-10 years.

The beanie pattern has instructions for both knitting flat on straight needles or in the round on double pointed needles or circulars.

Gauge 

22 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm [4 ins] over stst on 4 mm [6 US] needles.

Finished size

48 cm [19.25 ins] - fits 2-10 years

  MC - Chocolate      1       50gm Balls

  C1 – Knigfisher       1       50gm Balls

• One pair size 4 mm [6 US] knitting needles or 4 mm [6 US] double pointed needles.

When substituting yarn, compare the tension gauge of the pattern and the yarn. Working a tension square to determine the suitability of the yarn as a substitute is recommended - to compare the tension for sizing but also to test whether it creates the fabric you are after.

To determine the quantity of substitute yarn needed, compare the total meterage needed in the pattern to the meterage on the substitute.
