Winterberry Santa is regal and beautiful, and Rustic Santa is so classy in his understated coat. They both have whispy beards and will form a great centrepiece to your Christmas decor!

You can choose which one to make in our full day class. We will show you how to sew all the parts and assemble them, feed you and help you to leave with your completed masterpiece!

Our class is in the John Knox Centre, Rangiora, on 27 November 2021 from 10 am to 3pm. Your fee includes your part kit, lunch, tea, coffee and snacks. There is some preparation to do, so please read through the notes below, as well as the instruction sheet which will be given to you when you book.

 

Materials Needed

Winterberry Santa

Your part kit will include

  • Vinyl Santa head and hands
  • Beard and hair - Tibetan Lambs Wool
  • Pattern and instructions
  • Small amount of dacron stuffing
  • Craft Glue

 You need to prepare for the class

Please collect your notes or ask us to email it to you. 

  • Jacket: 50 cm of fabric, pieced or not pieced, and quilted with a thin batting and backing. If doing cross hatch or lines, use a clearance of 1.5 to 2 inches.  
  • Wine bottle - follow instructions on your sheet.
  • Robe - to go under jacket - fabric pieces 35 x 35cm and 14 x 35cm. 
  • Mittens - Felt or felted wool: choose a colour that works with your robe fabric and the jacket: 15 x 25cm. Embroidery cotton to match or contrast. Follow instructions on sheet to prepare the mittens.

You need to bring to class

  • Batting: 1 piece 30 x 30cm and 1 piece 15cm square
  • Prepared wine bottle
  • Prepared Robe, quilted jacket fabric and mittens
  • Minky for fur trim: 25cm by width of fabric to suit your jacket.

  • Size appropriate Christmas decoration for your Santa to hold (you will get some in your kit too)

  • Sewing machine, general sewing tools - scissors, needles, pins etc.
  • Matching thread and bobbin thread.

 

 Rustic Santa

Your part kit will include

  • Vinyl Santa head 
  • Beard and hair - Tibetan Lambs Wool
  • Pattern and instructions
  • Small amount of dacron stuffing
  • Fabric for Jacket
  • Accessories - due to stock issues, yours will have an antique barn red theme.
  • Craft Glue

 You need to prepare for the class

  • Bottle - follow instructions on your sheet.
  • Robe - to go under jacket - fabric pieces 35 x 35cm and two pieces  13 x 20cm for the arms. As this is rustic Santa, you could use plaids or checks or even stripes.
  • Mittens - Felt or felted wool: choose a colour that works with your robe fabric and the jacket: 15 x 25cm. Embroidery cotton to match or contrast. Follow instructions on sheet to prepare the mittens.

You need to bring to class

  • Batting: 1 piece 30 x 32cm and 1 piece 15cm square
  • Prepared wine bottle
  • Prepared Robe pieces and Mittens
  • 120cm ric rac braid
  • Sewing machine, general sewing tools - scissors, needles, pins etc.
  • Matching thread and bobbin thread.
